Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Manager of Vessel Operations in Elizabeth, NJ to oversee all vessel activities, ensure adherence to stowage plans, and meet sailing deadlines. You will coordinate with Planning, direct stevedoring labor, and optimize labor and equipment use while maintaining safety and productivity.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 4–7 years in terminal operations (vessel/stevedoring), and hands-on Navis N4/XPS experience.

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of terminal operations experience, preferably vessel/stevedoring operations.
• A four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related field.
• Experience with Navis N4/XPS and vessel stowage/planning modules; familiarity with TMS/WMS and BI reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead vessel operations on assigned shift to meet sailing and berthing deadlines.
• Coordinate with Planning to ensure effective ship-working programs are maintained.
• Direct stevedoring labor and optimize labor/equipment utilization.
• Ensure adherence to safety, Master Labor Agreement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
