Bloomberg Opinion in Washington D.C. is seeking a Vertical Video Producer and Editor for a 12 month contract role to join our global team of columnists and editors. We're looking for a social-minded video journalist to handle idea generation, scripting, directing shoots and post-production, plus live webinars for Bloomberg Opinion’s social channels.

This is a hybrid role around Bloomberg’s DC bureau. The role requires a newsroom mindset, strong news judgment and 2+ years in video editing with

Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience editing video with CapCut and/or Premiere and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator).
Experience using graphics software including Canva and Figma.
Newsroom background with ability to meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Produce short-form videos daily, combining scripting, editing and directing talent.
Highlight columnists’ expertise in video form for Bloomberg’s audience on TikTok and Instagram Reels.
Produce engaging live stream webinars with columnists from an online studio.
Turn complex opinion columns into digestible social video content using explainers and trends.
Collaborate with editors on best practices for social video.
Create other social and digital content including video, graphics, and some written pieces.
