Job summary

The Hill in Washington, DC is seeking a Digital Video Producer/Editor to create original videos for our website, social media, and streaming channel. You will report to the Senior Director of Digital Video and work closely with reporters, editors, and the programming team.

This in-office role requires a minimum of three years’ video producing experience, strong Adobe Creative Suite skills (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop), and a solid news judgment with an interest in politics.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years’ video producing experience.
Demonstrated experience both pitching and executing video packages.
Keen eye for strong and dynamic visual design.
Solid news judgment with an interest in politics.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of audience engagement and analytics.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop.
ENPS knowledge helpful.
Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, television production, or equivalent experience.
Able to work nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

Quickly produce breaking news video packages from press conferences and hearings.
Set up livestreams for the site, YouTube and OTT platform.
Fill in as OBS operator for OTT livestreaming.
Pivot quickly as stories change in a fast-moving news cycle.
Conceptualize video series or standalone packages on headlines.
Collaborate with reporters and editors to produce videos around stories.
Create compelling YouTube thumbnails and headlines.
