Based in New York with a three-day in-office expectation, the role oversees daily operations, defines priorities, and scales repeatable video franchises.

Qualifications

• Significant experience producing and managing short-form video in a digital news or media organization.
• Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring, and developing editorial teams.
• Deep understanding of vertical video storytelling and major social media platforms.
• Excellent editorial judgment and a commitment to the highest journalistic standards.
• Strong understanding of audience development and using performance data to inform editorial decisions.
• Experience evaluating and implementing AI-powered workflows that improve efficiency and storytelling.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication and collaborative leadership skills.
• A passion for innovation in digital storytelling and new content formats.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of vertical video producers, fostering a collaborative newsroom culture.
• Oversee daily vertical video coverage, managing workflows, assigning stories, and setting publishing priorities.
• Partner with reporters and editors to translate original reporting into compelling short-form video.
• Coach reporters, producers, and hosts on vertical-native storytelling, scripting, and on-camera presentation.
• Review edits, headlines, and captions to ensure editorial accuracy and journalistic standards.
• Analyze audience and platform performance data to refine priorities and publishing strategies.
• Develop and scale repeatable vertical video franchises to grow presence on social platforms.
• Identify emerging storytelling tools and platform opportunities to stay at the forefront of digital video journalism.
