Job summary

VDA is seeking a CAD/BIM Operator to produce accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for vertical transportation projects. You will work with engineers and designers to create plans, sections, elevations, and details using AutoCAD and Revit.

You will ensure compliance with VDA standards, coordinate BIM models with architecture and other trades, and support design submissions through drafting and documentation. This role requires attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to manage

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field.
• 2–5 years of professional CAD drafting experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong knowledge of drafting standards and document coordination.
• Working knowledge of load calculations.

Responsibilities

• Create 2D drawings of elevator and escalator components per VDA standards.
• Develop 3D BIM models using Revit and coordinate with architects.
• Produce plan and section sheets from BIM models.
• Revise drawings based on redlines and consultant direction.
• Organize project files and maintain version control.
