Job summary

Timken is seeking a Vertical Market Insights Specialist to generate market, application, customer and competitor insights that enable growth strategies. You will perform primary and secondary research and apply frameworks to identify opportunities and help cross-functional teams decide where to play and how to win.

Responsibilities include mapping verticals, building application maps, sizing opportunities, and translating insights into clear value propositions and activation plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Marketing, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 4+ years of experience in B2B market research, strategy, marketing, product management, business development, consulting, or a related commercial role; industrial market experience preferred.
• Strong curiosity and learning agility, with the ability to quickly learn new markets, applications, technologies, methods, and frameworks.
• Experience applying structured frameworks, methodologies, or playbooks to identify opportunities, develop insights, and support growth decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct research, synthesize insights, and translate findings into clear business implications.
