Job summary

Vertex is seeking a Service Engineer to provide production support for Vertex tax management systems and their ERP integrations. The role requires taxation expertise and technical troubleshooting to ensure accurate tax calculations and seamless operations across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities include maintaining Vertex configurations, debugging tax rules, and supporting ERP integrations with systems like Oracle Fusion. Strong SQL skills and knowledge of regulatory tax reporting are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience with Vertex tax systems and ERP integrations.
• Strong understanding of indirect taxation (Sales & Use Tax, VAT, GST, Withholding Tax).
• Proficiency in SQL and data analysis.
• Experience troubleshooting API integrations and data feeds.
• Familiarity with SOX audits for tax processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for Vertex tax management systems and ERP integrations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Maintain Vertex tax configuration, rules, and taxability assignments.
• Troubleshoot Vertex-ERP integration issues and data feeds (REST/SOAP).
• Manage API data feeds and Vertex data loads; optimize performance.
• Support tax reporting, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Document troubleshooting steps and best practices.
