University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) invites applications for an Area IPM Advisor focused on vertebrate pests in tree, field, and vegetable crops in California's San Joaquin Valley.

Based on the Five Points headquarters, this on-site role develops an integrated pest management program across eight counties and partners with growers, CPA's, DPR, USDA, and extension specialists.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in vertebrate management, pest management, applied vertebrate ecology, or related field.
  • Experience in vertebrate pest management in agricultural settings.
  • Strong written and oral communication, and ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within California and work on-site.
  • Qualified Pesticide Applicator Certificate (QAC) or License (QAL) prior to pesticide application.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and extend IPM programs for vertebrate pests in CA agriculture.
  • Coordinate with growers, agencies, and UC ANR programs to deliver training and outreach.
  • Lead applied research addressing high-priority vertebrate pest issues in the San Joaquin Valley.
  • Publish findings and provide extension materials to support adoption of IPM practices.
