Job summary

Ossium Health in Indiana is seeking a Tissue Recovery Specialist to support vertebral body recovery activities within our donor program. This independent contractor role requires OR or tissue recovery experience and involves travel by car or plane to designated facilities.

You will work closely with OPO staff, maintain aseptic techniques, comply with safety standards, and deliver recovered tissue to our Indianapolis processing facility.

Qualifications

• Experience in organ, tissue, or ocular recovery within an OPO or hospital OR setting.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel with limited notice (typically under 6 hours).
• Excellent communication and professional demeanor in interactions with partners and clinical staff.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to donor recovery communications.
• Perform vertebral body recovery following procurement or as permitted.
• Develop knowledge of Ossium Health protocols to ensure high-quality performance.
• Travel by car or plane to designated facilities as needed.
• Coordinate with OPO staff to align recovery activities.
• Recover a minimum of four cases per month.
• Document, package, and deliver recovered tissue to Indianapolis facility.
