Job summary

Ossium Health is seeking a Tissue Recovery Specialist to support vertebral body recovery programs as an independent contractor. The role requires operating room or tissue recovery experience and involves coordinating with OPO staff to ensure timely donor recovery.

Candidates must be willing to travel by car or plane, work outside standard hours, and undergo background and reference checks. This is not an on-call position; assignments come as needed and are directed by the Manager of Recovery

Qualifications

• Experience in OPO or hospital OR recovery settings.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel on short notice (drive or fly).
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to donor recovery communications.
• Perform vertebral body recovery after procurement.
• Learn Ossium protocols to ensure high-quality performance.
• Travel by car and potentially by plane to designated facilities.
• Coordinate with OPO staff.
• Recover a minimum of 4 cases per month.
• Document, pack, and deliver recovered tissue to Indianapolis facility.
• Represent Ossium Health professionally with partners and clinical staff.
• Adhere to safety standards and PPE.
