Job summary

Precision Group is looking for a skilled Utility Mechanic to maintain, repair, and fabricate equipment and infrastructure. Responsibilities include welding, mechanical repairs, and installation of specialty spaces like darkrooms. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires strong knowledge of generator maintenance, ability to read technical documents, and experience with hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in welding or mechanical repair is a plus.
• Proven experience in welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick) and general fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of small engine and generator maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on various equipment including generators, compressors, pumps, and specialty tools.
• Weld, fabricate, and modify metal structures, supports, brackets, and enclosures as needed.
• Install and maintain darkrooms and similar specialty spaces, including layout, framing, plumbing, electrical, and ventilation components.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs.
• Operate and maintain shop tools and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
• Assist with general facility upkeep, including plumbing, lighting, and basic construction work.
• Respond to maintenance emergencies or urgent equipment failures.
• Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company standards.
