Job summary

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Float Pool on a PRN basis with 12-hour shifts. The LPN provides nursing care to acutely ill patients under supervision, performing assigned procedures within the Iowa State Board of Nursing scope.

Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited LPN program and an active LPN license in Iowa or a Compact State, along with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• Current unencumbered LPN license in Iowa or from a Compact State.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for acutely ill patients under supervision of the department Director/Manager and RN.
• Collect data for RN assessment and assist with plan of care.
• Perform plan of care interventions, including wound care and medication administration as allowed.
• Document patient care provided and communicate status with RN, physician, patient and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
