Job summary

Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, NH is seeking a Float/Resource Registered Nurse to provide flexible, evidence-based care across the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Medical‑Surgical Unit on the 11a–11p shift.

The ideal candidate will hold a current RN license, BLS and ACLS, with ED/ICU experience and the ability to float between units. TNCC and PALS are preferred and must be obtained within the stated timeframe.

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Experience in the Emergency Department and/or Intensive Care Unit is required
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certification
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Flexibility to float between the Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, and Medical Surgical Unit
• TNCC and PALS certification preferred within established timeframe

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care across assigned clinical areas
• Adapt quickly to changing patient care needs while maintaining high standards of clinical excellence
• Prioritize care for patients with varying levels of acuity using sound clinical judgment
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, laboratory, radiology, and other team members
• Identify subtle changes in patient condition and communicate findings promptly to the appropriate provider
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Administer medications safely while monitoring and evaluating patient responses
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge planning
• Delegate appropriately to LPNs and LNAs while maintaining accountability for patient outcomes
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with hospital standards
• Participate in ongoing education, competency validation, and professional development
• Promote a positive, collaborative environment focused on quality outcomes and exceptional patient experiences
