Job summary

The Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA) seeks a Temporary Full-Time Float Pool Registered Nurse to deliver professional nursing care across multiple inpatient and specialty areas, supporting staffing and patient-centered care throughout the organization.

The RN collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, while helping maintain safe staffing during peak periods and exercising strong clinical judgment,

Qualifications

• Graduation from accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in SC or compact state; 2 years RN experience and current BLS certification required.
• ACLS within six months of hire; PALS for critical care and mother/baby areas.

Responsibilities

• Documents initial nursing histories and develops care plans.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures for direct patient care.
• Evaluates outcomes and adjusts care processes to improve patient care.
• Coordinates discharge planning.
• Maintains patient documentation and confidentiality.
• Formulates teaching plans based on learning needs and evaluates effectiveness.
• Arranges for diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients.
• Performs other duties as assigned by nurse leadership.
