The Jacksonville Area Chamber of Co is seeking a full-time Facilities Assistant to maintain agency facilities and property under the direction of the Facilities Manager. Responsibilities include completing maintenance tasks, coordinating with staff, and ensuring safe, functional work areas.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 1+ year maintenance experience or trade training, a valid driver’s license, and ability to read and follow procedures.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of maintenance experience or trade school certification preferred.
• Ability to read, as measured by literacy assessment tests.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing knowledge preferred; forklift operation a plus.

Aufgaben

• Maintain agency facilities and property under the direction of the Facilities Manager.
• Make recommendations on maintenance assignments, equipment use, energy efficiency and practices for cost-effective maintenance.
• Provide on-site guidance to other maintenance personnel and assist with repairs.
• Maintain records on equipment, vehicles, and supplies; coordinate with Facilities Manager for major repairs.
• Ensure maintenance areas, equipment, and supplies are neat, clean, and orderly; perform minor repairs as needed.
• Attend to grounds maintenance including snow/ice removal and lawn care; assist with moving equipment and furniture.
• Complete all annual training requirements; may assist during emergencies.
