Job summary

Pocketbook Agency is seeking a full-time Private Chef for a busy Miami Beach family. You will own the kitchen, plan weekly menus, prepare healthy daily meals, and entertain guests, with a focus on family-friendly flavors and kid tastes evolving over time.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Private Chef for a family (ideally with children) in addition to prior restaurant experience.
• Skilled across all cuisines, comfortable creating meals that pull from across the globe.
• Experienced in meal prep and packaging for drop-off or later meals.
• Handles grocery shopping, inventory, and kitchen organization without oversight.
• Warm, positive, and comfortable around the family and team.
• Efficient, self-sufficient, and comfortable keeping a light presence in the home.
• Reliable, discreet, and easy to have as part of the household routine.
• Local to South Florida

Responsibilities

• Owns all family meals, including planning, grocery shopping, pantry stocking, documentation, and cooking without oversight
• Cooks lunch and dinner daily and supports frequent entertaining of friends and guests
• Creates weekly menus for Principal approval, and tracks preferences, favorite meals, and cuisines as they change
• Prepares lunches for office drop-off when the Principals work from the office (typically Monday through Thursday)
• Keeps the pantry, refrigerator, and freezer organized to household standards, with every item labeled and dated, and complete a weekly cleaning and inventory
• Involves the kids in the kitchen from time to time
• Keeps the kitchen clean and organized, and sanitizes all prep areas and appliances before and after meals
• Follows all food safety rules, hygiene standards, and the dress code, including a chef uniform and indoor-only chef footwear
• Performs other duties as assigned

A busy, dynamic Miami Beach family is seeking a full-time Private Chef to take full ownership of their kitchen, from weekly menus to everyday meals and frequent entertaining. The focus is on healthy meals and close attention to the kids’ changing tastes. The family entertains often, so the right Chef stays calm under pressure in a fast-paced home. The role calls for consistency, creativity within the family’s preferences, and real care for the people you cook for. This individual will be equally comfortable preparing delicious family-style meals with flavors from around the globe, to creating fine dining plated menus for special occasions and dinner parties. This culinary wizard will value creating food that produces memorable experiences around holidays, kid-themed special occasions, and special events.

Location:

Miami Beach, FL, with summers in the Hamptons from early June through early August. Willingness to travel with the family is a plus.

Schedule:
