Job summary

Velociti Services is seeking a dependable Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily operations and upkeep of a commercial property in Pasadena, CA. The role covers routine maintenance, minor repairs, janitorial porter duties, and basic landscaping to keep the environment safe and welcoming for tenants and visitors.

The ideal candidate has a general maintenance background, can handle varied tasks, communicates professionally with tenants and management, and knows when to escalate work

Qualifications

• Previous experience in building maintenance, commercial facilities maintenance, property maintenance, or general repair.
• Basic working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Ability to perform light handyman work (painting, caulking, drywall repairs).
• Ability to perform light janitorial, porter, and exterior upkeep duties as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and customer-service focus.
• Willingness to complete required safety and technical trainings.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and water treatment systems within training limits.
• Complete minor repairs and general handyman tasks (small drywall, painting, caulking, appliance installs).
• Identify issues, assess scope, and report needs to outside contractor when required.
• Follow maintenance schedules and respond to service requests as assigned.
• Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, common areas, entrances, and designated spaces.
• Perform routine porter duties and respond to urgent cleaning needs as scheduled.
• Set irrigation timers and perform minor irrigation system troubleshooting.
• Communicate professionally with tenants, management, AREAS representatives, and Velociti Services.
