RINA is currently recruiting for a Verification & Validation Engineer to join its office in Roma within the Digital Technology and Cybersecurity Division.

Mission

The Verification & Validation Engineer focuses on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products through rigorous testing and verification activities. You will work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to develop test plans, and execute test cases to validate software functionality and performance. The ideal candidate has a good background in software verification and testing methodologies, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for delivering high-quality software solutions.

Key Accountabilities

Test Planning and Strategy:
- Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on requirements and design specifications.
Testing Execution:
- Execute functional, regression, performance, and system integration tests.
- Conduct manual and automated testing to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Identify, analyze, and document defects and inconsistencies in software behavior.
Verification Activities:
- Verify software requirements and design and ensure they are implemented correctly.
- Conduct static code analysis and review to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Conduct dynamic analysis (timing and performance) to ensure execution timing requirements satisfaction.
Validation Activities:
- Validate software functionality against defined SW requirements, user needs, and intended use cases.
- Perform usability testing and ensure user interface consistency and intuitiveness.
Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test reports, and test summaries.
- Document and communicate test results to stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in the software testing lifecycle.
- Recommend and implement improvements to testing methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with software developers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and verify bug fixes.
- Communicate testing progress, results, and risks to project stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Aerospace Engineering

Qualifications

- Technical and operational experience in the development of terrestrial command and control systems.
- Experience in the development of automatic and semi-automatic tests of software components.
- Knowledge of IBM Doors and Rhapsody application packages.
- Knowledge of environments (operating systems, etc.): Linux, Windows.
- Programming languages: Python, C++, SQL.
- Knowledge of OpenGL, Qt, Qml graphic toolkit.
- Knowledge of bash and XML scripting.
