Verbena Spa at Austin Proper Hotel and Residences seeks a Dual Massage Therapist/Esthetician to deliver massage, facial, waxing and body treatments with a luxury focus.

Ideal candidates have a state massage license (750 hours) and an esthetic license, plus 4+ years in a luxury spa environment. Requires strong customer service, professionalism, and flexibility for non-traditional hours.

Responsibilities

• Performs massage, facial, waxing and body services meeting established guidelines and guest expectations.
• Assesses contraindications before service and ensures guest safety.
• Maintains highest product knowledge and explains ingredients and benefits to guests.
• Creates and maintains client cards and treatment notes, when appropriate.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment daily per CDC guidelines and keeps work areas clean.
• Attends scheduled meetings and professional training; reports incidents to management.

Position Overview The Dual Massage Therapist/Esthetician provides a variety of therapeutic and beauty treatments aimed at relaxing and rejuvenating guests. This role combines the skills of both a massage therapist and an esthetician, ensuring clients receive high-quality bodywork and skincare treatments. The ideal candidate is passionate about wellness, skilled in a range of services, and dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Adheres to policies of Proper Hospitality.
• Performs massage, facial, waxing and body services that meet the established guidelines for the type of service offering and that fulfill guest expectations.
• Assesses contraindications of guest that may prevent service from taking place.
• Meets the needs of the guest at all times throughout the service.
• Understands and uses universal precautions when providing services.
• Cleans and disinfects all equipment on a daily basis according to CDC guidelines.
• Maintains the highest level of product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa service presently offered. Understands the ingredients in products and can explain their benefits to guests. Answers guests’ questions in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
• Suggests to guests other beneficial treatments offered in the spa. Upsell products and services.
• Begins and ends all treatments on time.
• Works assigned schedule and arrives and departs from their shift on time.
• Ensures that work areas are clean and set according to procedures.
• Informs Spa Director or other management personnel about product needs.
• Creates and maintains client cards and treatment notes, when appropriate.
• Completes all assigned side work.
• Attends all scheduled meetings & professional training.
• Reports any incidents or accidents to a member of the management team.
• Assist with cleanliness of Spa Locker and Fitness Rooms if needed.

Education & Qualifications

• Valid state license in massage therapy with a minimum of 750 hours and a valid esthetic license.
• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Minimum four (4) years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a luxury spa or hospitality environment.
• Must be at least 18 years’ old
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
