Summary

The Venue Sales and Events Account Manager is responsible for selling meeting and event spaces at MEET Las Vegas, with primary responsibility for inbound sales opportunities and programs with anticipated total MEET Las Vegas revenue of less than $50,000. This position leads assigned events from conception to event day and ensures contracted deliverables are executed.

The Venue Sales and Events Account Manager is responsible for managing and converting company-provided inbound leads, including website inquiries, TripleSeat inquiries, referrals, and other inbound sources. This position manages the sales process for assigned opportunities, including lead qualifications, proposals, site visits, contracting, client communication, event planning, and event-day execution.

This is a highly customer-service and relationship-driven position. The successful candidate must genuinely enjoy working with people and social groups and demonstrate an exceptional ability to build, develop, and maintain strong professional relationships. A high level of emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication, responsiveness, hospitality, and relationship management is essential to success in this role. The ability to make clients feel welcomed, valued, heard, and well cared for throughout the sales and event process is of utmost importance.

Opportunities with anticipated total MEET Las Vegas revenue of $50,000 or more, as well as strategically significant, large-scale, complex, multi-day, national corporate, association, conference, or other designated business opportunities, will be managed by the Director of Business Development & Sales.

For purposes of determining lead ownership, anticipated total MEET Las Vegas revenue includes venue rental, food and beverage, AV/technology, labor, parking, and other applicable revenue associated with the event. Lead ownership may be reassigned by the Director of Business Development & Sales based on account significance, complexity, future revenue potential, or other business considerations.

The successful candidate is a results-driven, service-oriented professional with a proven record of achieving or surpassing sales goals and a demonstrated passion for hospitality, customer service, and relationship management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages and responds to company-provided inbound sales inquiries, including website inquiries, TripleSeat inquiries, referrals, phone inquiries, and other assigned inbound leads.
  • Manages and converts inbound sales opportunities with anticipated total MEET Las Vegas revenue of less than $50,000, unless otherwise assigned by the Director of Business Development & Sales.
  • Provides an exceptional level of customer service and relationship management throughout the entire client experience; genuinely enjoys working with people and social groups and builds authentic, positive relationships with clients, guests, vendors, and internal team members.
  • Generates sales and maximizes revenue from assigned inbound opportunities by effectively qualifying prospects, presenting venue options, developing proposals, following up, and closing business.
  • Meets or exceeds established sales goals.
  • Follows up on company-provided website and other inbound inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Conducts site visits for assigned clients and prospective clients.
  • Documents sales activities, client communications, proposals, opportunities, and account information in TripleSeat.
  • Maintains accurate and current information regarding assigned sales opportunities and pipeline activity.
  • Negotiates and prepares event proposals, agreements, and contracts using established guidelines.
  • Upsells additional services and upgrades by optimizing event profitability.
  • Builds strong relationships with new and repeat clients to help drive loyalty, referrals, and repeat business.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Business Development & Sales when an opportunity meets the criteria for Director ownership or when additional sales strategy or support is appropriate.
  • Facilitates internal and external communications of all assigned private and special events to ensure client expectations are met and events run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Participates in the strategic planning process for events; defines event objectives, event date staffing requirements, vendors, technology, and other resources required to fulfill event deliverables; clearly communicates these needs with appropriate members of the team.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Business Development & Sales for catering and menu proposal options.
  • Interacts with caterers on event dates and times, menu development, food set-up and displays for events to ensure the highest quality of food production, standards, presentation, service, and client satisfaction.
  • Interacts with additional contracted vendors on event dates and times, services, set up, and strike, ensuring the highest quality standards, presentation, service, and client satisfaction.
  • Ensures client payment and other event requirements are satisfied on or before dates specified in the event agreement.
  • Is responsible for the arrival, event execution, and post-execution activities for assigned events.
  • Carefully transfers responsibility for event completion to the assigned representative before leaving each event.
  • Provides weekly sales updates and contributes to post-event reports and debriefs.
  • Participates in the research, development, evaluation, and implementation of new products, services, technology, and processes in order to maintain a competitive position.
  • Collaborates with the marketing department on marketing collateral, support, or requirements to effectively promote the venue.
  • Contributes to and is able to produce sales productivity and other ad hoc reports, as requested.

Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or higher degree of education
  • 2+ years of demonstrated sales and event planning experience
  • 2+ years of work experience in events, venue, or hospitality industry; knowledge of independent venues preferred
  • Solid knowledge in event food and beverage practices
  • Intermediate to advanced platform skills sufficient to deliver presentations
  • Ability to work extended hours, nights, and weekends
