Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.
• Current state license as a Respiratory Therapist.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Vent unit experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work 3/12 hour shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized respiratory care plans
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies, such as oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and chest physiotherapy
• Monitor and adjust mechanical ventilators as needed
• Educate patients and their families on respiratory care techniques and disease management
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
• Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment
• Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate respiratory support as needed
• Adhere to all infection control and safety protocols
