Job summary

Rehabilitation Center of Orlando is seeking an RN/LPN Unit Manager to lead the Vent Unit, oversee nursing staff, and ensure clinical excellence for residents with complex respiratory needs. This is a full-time position with a schedule of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM and a competitive salary.

Active Florida RN or LPN license and at least 2 years in long-term care are required. Ventilator/tracheostomy experience is preferred. Benefits and a collaborative team environment are included.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN or LPN license in good standing.
• Minimum of two (2) years of long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or subacute experience.
• Experience with ventilator-dependent and/or tracheostomy residents is strongly preferred.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Experience with PCC (PointClickCare) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Vent Unit while ensuring exceptional resident care.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies and all state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to maintain high-quality resident care and efficient staffing practices.
• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff while fostering a positive team culture.
• Manage staffing schedules and workflow to ensure appropriate unit coverage.
• Conduct staff training, competency evaluations, and performance coaching.
• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation, including MDS-related processes.
• Utilize PCC (PointClickCare) to support quality resident care and documentation.
• Assist with resident and family concerns, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and represent nursing leadership throughout the facility.
• Monitor residents with ventilator and tracheostomy needs, ensuring adherence to established clinical protocols and best practices.
