Job summary

Rehabilitation Center of Orlando in Orlando, Florida, seeks an RN/LPN Unit Manager for the Vent Unit to lead the nursing team, ensure clinical excellence, and positively impact residents with complex respiratory needs.

This role requires strong leadership, supervision of staff, schedule management, and accurate PCC documentation, with collaboration with the DON/ADON to sustain quality care.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RN or LPN license required.
• Two years of long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or subacute experience preferred.
• Experience with ventilator-dependent and/or tracheostomy residents preferred.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills required.
• Familiarity with PCC (PointClickCare) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the Vent Unit while ensuring exceptional resident care.
• Ensure compliance with facility policies and all state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to maintain high-quality resident care and efficient staffing practices.
• Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff while fostering a positive team culture.
• Manage staffing schedules and workflow to ensure appropriate unit coverage.
• Conduct staff training, competency evaluations, and performance coaching.
• Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation, including MDS-related processes.
• Utilize PCC (PointClickCare) to support quality resident care and documentation.
• Assist with resident and family concerns, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary care coordination.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and represent nursing leadership throughout the facility.
• Monitor residents with ventilator and tracheostomy needs, ensuring adherence to established clinical protocols and best practices.

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.

• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

• Experience with PCC (PointClickCare) preferred.
