Job summary

Do it Best Group in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Vendor Performance Specialist to drive vendor compliance and performance, and to coordinate corrective actions with suppliers. You will lead audits, analyze data, and present recommendations to improve standards.

You will also train internal teams, define expectations, and manage documentation to ensure timely execution of improvements. Strong communication and data-analysis skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years in vendor management, compliance, or supply chain operations is a plus.
  • Experience developing and monitoring compliance programs.

Reports to: Vendor Compliance & Freight Payment Supervisor

About the Role:

The Vendor Performance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring vendor compliance with business requirements while fostering strong, trust-based relationships. This position involves assessing vendor performance, managing compliance documentation, and facilitating communication between internal and external stakeholders. The role is also instrumental in coaching internal teams, providing clear guidelines, and ensuring consistency in compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Compliance & Performance:
  • Conduct regular vendor audits to assess compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Implement corrective action plans for vendors failing to meet company standards.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations for compliance improvement and performance optimization.
Stakeholder Communication & Training:
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to define and communicate compliance expectations.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person meetings/presentations to ensure alignment on standards.
  • Train and support internal teams in vendor compliance processes.
Risk Assessment & Continuous Improvement:
  • Perform risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and improve vendor credibility.
  • Analyze compliance data and recommend enhancements to policies and procedures.
  • Organize compliance-related tasks, track deadlines, and ensure timely execution of improvement plans.
Education and Experience:
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor management, compliance, supply chain operations, or a related field is a plus.
Skills and Abilities:
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in vendor scorecards, compliance protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide strategic insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs.
  • Ability to conduct presentations, facilitate meetings, and train stakeholders.
  • Ability to monitor, maintain, and administrate all software or applications related to compliance.
Soft Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with internal and external partners effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to implement proactive solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task, stay detail-oriented, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proven experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams within an organization.
  • Strong relationship management skills to ensure sustained vendor compliance and long-term partnerships.
