Job summary

Google in Boulder, CO is looking for a Vendor Manager on the gUP Operations team. You will manage a global portfolio of vendors to support scaling efforts across cross-functional groups for new products and services, using project and vendor management skills to improve workflows.

You will lead continuous improvements of business processes, review vendor performance (SLA, MBRs, QBRs) and collaborate with multiple teams to forecast volume changes and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience using analytics or applying project management tools to address business issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage global vendor operations budgets, metrics and workflow allocation across geographies and platforms.
• Drive large-scale projects across multiple sites and suppliers, including stakeholder management.
• Identify process opportunities with vendor groups and streamline operations to remove redundancies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast volume changes and capacity planning.
• Establish monthly governance forums to review performance and plan improvements.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 5 years of experience in operations or business management, and vendor management.
  
• 5 years of experience using analytics or applying project management tools to address business issues.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 5 years of relevant work experience, with experience in operations/business management and vendor management.
• Familiarity with Generative AI applications, Large Language Models (LLMs), and Machine Learning concepts.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence people to contribute to continuous improvement of operations.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills and experience in applying project management tools.

About the job:

As part the Vendor Manager for the gUP Operations team, you will manage a team of vendors (suppliers) based across the globe that support scaling efforts with a variety of cross-functional teams for a host of exciting new products/service offerings from Google. You will use project and vendor management skills to recommend solutions that will help improve evolving workflows and prepare them for scaling. You will be expected to manage a portfolio of vendor workflows that support process excellence, contribute to the long-term operational strategy and support model, and continuous improvements of business processes.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $105000 - $151000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities:

• Manage financials/ metrics and workflow allocation for global projects on vendor operations cutting across multiple geographies, suppliers and platforms.Review vendor data, identify process improvement opportunities and drive improvement of vendor performance (SLA compliance, MBRs, QBRs).
• Driving large scale complex projects spanning across multiple sites and suppliers. Manage the project execution, identify project stakeholders, and manage their expectations
• Be a liaison for multiple vendor groups, be able to identify the process opportunities and work with teams to help streamline operations, drive operational excellence, remove redundancies in the process, handoffs, etc.
• Work closely with X-functional team, COE team, Vendor Partners and other business teams to review the volume changes, forecasting and capacity planning and help teams prepare accordingly
• Setup and drive monthly governance forums on what is working well, what needs improvement and proposed action plan.
