Job summary

Halfords in Newport is seeking a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with solid servicing and repair skills to join our Autocentres team. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics and more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements.

You will hold Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or have time-served experience, and you must hold a full driving licence with up to 9 points. The role offers career progression opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work across brakes, steering/suspension, engine, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repair and replacement work with accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform diagnostics and complex repairs (brakes, steering, suspension, electrical).
• Contribute to vehicle safety and quality checks to meet Halfords standards.
