Job summary

Halfords is seeking a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic in Kettering, Northamptonshire. You will service and repair vehicles, performing tasks from routine servicing to complex replacements and diagnostics, including electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

The role offers a base salary between £33,000 and £38,800 per year, with On-target earnings up to £38,800 and an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £5,800 per year. Five days a week with multiple staff benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or time served experience.
• Must have a full driving licence with no more than 9 points.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair work and replacement tasks.
• Carry out more complex tasks (clutches, timing belt) and diagnostics including electrics, brakes, steering and suspension.

As a Vehicle Technician/ Mechanic, you will be already skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You’ll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutches and timing belt replacements and diagnostics in areas such as vehicle electrics, brake steering and suspension systems.

Skills and experience

• Must have a Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent OR time served experience
• Must have a full drivers licence with no more than 9 points
• Experienced Technician/Mechanic able to carry out diagnostic work (brakes, steering/suspension, engine) and more complex repair and replacements (coolant/diesel injectors, head gasket, brakes, electrical)
