Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Software Engineer to lead OTA readiness and end-to-end delivery for vehicle launches. You will design payloads, monitor VeSCoM performance, and optimize data dashboards across big data platforms.

You will coordinate with SW VSE, SIT, PQM, CRT, PEMs, and own OTA deployment methods while aligning with core strategies, UX, and operational requirements. Hybrid work setup with in-office and remote days is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Two years of experience as Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, or related occupation.
• Two years of OTA update and vehicle connectivity experience.
• Two years troubleshooting experience and improvement methodologies.
• One year of issue identification, support and resolution.
• In-vehicle test setup and configuration for OTA execution.
• Retrieval and analysis of CGM/TCP/CAN logs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute OTA Readiness Plan to ensure vehicle launch and OTA capabilities before launch.
• Understand project timelines and vehicle program rollout timing.
• Design and create payloads/campaigns to deliver a VeSCoM and monitor performance.
• Create dashboards to monitor delivery status by optimizing SQL statements on relational and big data platforms.
• Lead issue resolution for cross-functional coordination during development.
• Own OTA deployment methods across platforms and ensure successful delivery for test fleets and customers.
• Understand core strategies, UX requirements and operational process requirements for OTA programming.
• Own platform capabilities including OTA refresh, Diagnostics, Network, and Communications.
• Project management and hands-on test and integration work.

DUTIES: Develop and execute OTA Readiness Plan to ensure vehicle launch and OTA capabilities prior vehicle launch. Understand implementation project timelines and vehicle program rollout timing. Develop, design, and create the different payloads/campaigns to deliver a VeSCoM and monitor the performance. Design and create dashboards to monitor the delivery status by optimizing complicated SQL statements in relational database and big data platform. Drive resolution of all issues surfaced during development process that lack a natural owner or require multi-functional coordination. End to End ownership of OTA deployment method by coordinating with SW VSE, SIT, PQM, CRT, PEMs to ensure a successful delivery of a VeSCoM for Capture Test Fleet and Customers. Understand core strategies, feature requirements, UX requirements and operational process requirements for OTA programming. Own one of more platform capabilities including OTA refresh, Diagnostics, Network, and Communications. Project management and hands on test and integration. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study and two (2) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, or related occupation.
• Two (2) years of experience in the following: OTA update and vehicle connectivity technologies
• Two (2) years of experience in the following: Troubleshooting skills and improvement methodologies.
• One (1) year of experience in the following: Issue identification, support and resolution.
• In vehicle test setup and configuration for OTA execution.
• Retrieval and analysis of CGM/TCP/CAN logs.
• Operational process requirement including Back Office processes for connected vehicle services.
• Make issues and OTA impacts to specific modules and features.
• Problem-solving skills to triage and resolve ambiguity issues that frequently surface during Over-The-Air update.
