Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is seeking a Lot Operations Specialist I to manage vehicle staging and plan crew movements on the auction lot. You will label cars for crew leaders and coordinate safety along move areas in line with driving rules.

The role requires attention to inventory, drive ability checks, and clear communication with leadership and cross-functional teams. A high school diploma and a clean driving record are required, with full-day shifts Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous auction experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Constantly required to enter and exit vehicles.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to walk long distances.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear.
• Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat and climb.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

• Lot Operations & Vehicle Movement: Support the organization, movement, staging, and placement of vehicles across the auction lot to meet operational and sale‑day requirements.
• Ensure vehicles are safely operable and expedite inoperable vehicles to service or tow teams as needed.
• Communicate with lot operations leadership, crew leaders, and cross‑functional partners regarding inventory status, priorities, and workflow needs.
• Inventory Accuracy & Documentation: Maintain accurate inventory records, logs, labels, and documentation to support tracking, reconciliation, and audit readiness. Utilize dashboards, trackers, and reports to monitor inventory levels, movement, and operational priorities.
• Safety & Compliance: Demonstrate visible commitment to safety by following all safety and health procedures and modelingsafe behaviors. Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards related to employee and customer conduct.
