Job summary

AutoNation in Naperville, IL is seeking a Reconditioning Technician to manage PDI, recalls, and reconditioning for all used vehicles. The role involves overseeing the workflow of technicians and porters to ensure timely, high-quality preparation of vehicles for online listing.

You will coordinate with the Service Director/Manager to schedule staff, review inspections, and prepare accurate estimates. The position offers hourly pay plus bonus, with a $40K–$50K annual target and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Professional appearance and customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Manage, write, and track all Reconditioning, PDI, and Inventory Recalls.
• Coordinate with Service Director/Manager to schedule technicians and porters to meet staffing needs.
• Identify store inventory with open recalls and schedule completion when parts are available.
• Conduct walk-around inspections with Used Car Manager to certify recon readiness and standards.
• Create a comprehensive estimate of work including total cost and timing before work is performed.
• Ensure all repairs are documented on a single repair order and closed by the next business day.
