Job summary

NIvel Parts and Manufacturing in Jacksonville, FL seeks an experienced Engineer to lead field issue triage, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional problem solving across suppliers and internal teams. The role drives containment actions, design improvements, and updates to work instructions for golf cart subsystems.

The candidate will manage engineering changes, maintain BOMs, and support validation and testing activities, ensuring alignment with safety and quality standards.

  • Must have strong root-cause analysis capabilities (8D, 5-Why) with corrective actions and verification.
  • Experience working with suppliers on issue resolution and quality improvement.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications and maintain documentation.
  • Excellent communication and ability to lead cross-functional teams to closure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead triage and resolution of vehicle-related field, warranty, and assembly issues; define containment actions and drive to closure.
  • Own structured problem solving with suppliers and internal teams, including 8D/5-Why root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and verification of effectiveness.
  • Partner with internal assembly to address build issues, improve workmanship/DFM, and update work instructions as needed.
  • Drive design and process improvements based on recurring failure modes, cost of quality, and customer feedback.
  • Coordinate cross-functional communication (Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Operations, Aftersales) and provide clear status updates, risks, and next steps.
  • Manage engineering changes from concept through implementation (documentation, release, supplier alignment, and production cut-in).
  • Maintain accurate BOMs and parts/technical documentation; ensure alignment between engineering releases, ERP/PLM data, and parts manuals.
  • Support validation/testing activities as needed (fit/function checks, failure analysis, and confirmation testing for corrective actions).
  • Provide engineering and design support for golf cart and subsystems and assist with concept evaluation, design reviews, and feasibility assessments.
  • Ensure golf cart design activities align with applicable safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product engineering/manufacturing engineering/quality engineering within PTV/golf carts, powersports, automotive, or a related vehicle/equipment industry
  • Demonstrated success leading root-cause analysis and corrective actions in a production environment (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys)
  • Experience working directly with suppliers on issue resolution, corrective action follow-up, and ongoing quality improvement
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications; strong documentation discipline
  • Strong communicationand cross-functional leadership skills; able to manage multiple priorities and drive closure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering(or related discipline) or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience supporting overseas suppliers (Asia preferred), including remote issue resolution and corrective action validation
  • Familiarity with change control processes (ECR/ECO) and BOM/PLM data integrity
  • Hands-on assembly/production support experience; comfortable working in shop/lab environments

Primarily office-based with regular time in the engineering lab and shop/assembly environment.Occasional domestic and international travelisneeded to support supplier
