Job description

The Vehicle Purchasing Agent (VPA) is responsible for providing quality, efficient customer service regarding vehicle purchases and related programs. VPA’s are required to purchase vehicles, verify the accuracy of documents, and ensure all required forms are filled out and signed correctly. Additionally, they may be responsible for vehicle sales and ownership transfers.

Essential Functions :

  1. Verify ownership documents match VINs on the physical vehicle received and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  2. Schedule appointments with customers and/or contract tow vendors for vehicle pickups.
  3. Purchase all vehicles delivered to the Store, adhering to legal and company policies.
  4. Receive delivered vehicles daily in the CFJC database via handheld devices and/or manual entry.
  5. Issue payments for vehicles and tows, maintaining and managing the daily check summary.
  6. Organize, maintain, and retain copies/files for routing sheets, vehicle transfers, sales, and purchases.
  7. Monitor and respond to incoming and outgoing calls and faxes.
  8. Sort, process, and ship documents as required.
  9. Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports as needed.
  10. Complete due diligence for vehicle purchasing weekly exception lists.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

  1. Proficient in general computer skills such as data entry and email communication.
  2. Ability to communicate professionally and efficiently with customers and vendors.
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  5. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
  6. Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions.
  7. Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
  8. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
  9. Ability to learn and retain company policies and procedures.
  10. Basic automotive knowledge/experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Activities :

  1. Regular standing, lifting, walking, bending, and stretching to perform job functions.
  2. Ability to maintain cleanliness of the facility through mopping, sweeping, etc.
  3. Sufficient vision to perform job tasks safely.
  4. Ability to work on feet for the duration of the shift.

Job Conditions :

  1. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions regularly.
  2. Periodic exposure to minimal chemical hazards.
