We are hiring an experienced Vehicle Operator to support autonomous vehicle testing and commercial operations in Dallas. This role combines professional CDL Class A driving with hands-on autonomous vehicle testing, vehicle inspections, and travel to support testing missions and operational needs.

This position is ideal for a CDL Class A driver with a strong safety record, flexibility for changing schedules, extended trips, and a keen interest in autonomous vehicle technology.

Competenze

• Valid CDL Class A driver's license.
• 3+ years of commercial driving experience on combination vehicles.
• Clean driving record.
• Able to pass background check and drug screening.
• Experience using an electronic logging device (ELD).
• Strong understanding of DOT safety requirements.

Job Overview

We are hiring an experienced Vehicle Operator to support autonomous vehicle testing and commercial operations in Dallas. This role combines professional Class 8 commercial driving with hands‑on autonomous vehicle testing, vehicle inspections, performance feedback, and travel to support testing missions and operational needs.

This position is ideal for an experienced CDL Class A driver who has a strong safety record, is comfortable with changing schedules and extended trips, and is interested in working with autonomous vehicle technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely and compliantly operate Class 8 commercial vehicles
• Operate passenger vehicles as needed to support testing and operations
• Operate Class 8 autonomous vehicles on public roadways and test tracks
• Monitor vehicle performance and provide detailed feedback on system behavior and capabilities
• Complete pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and DOT compliance
• Maintain accurate electronic logging device records
• Support software and vehicle testing at test tracks and other locations
• Participate in scouting, testing, and commercial delivery missions
• Support vehicle operations at industry events and other off‑site activities
• Maintain a strong culture of safety and operational excellence

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A driver's license
• 3+ years of recent commercial driving experience operating combination vehicles
• Clean driving record
• Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
• Experience using an electronic logging device
• Strong understanding of commercial vehicle safety and DOT requirements
• Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with operations and engineering teams
• Comfortable working late‑night and weekend shifts as business needs require
• Ability to work extended shifts of up to 14 hours in accordance with FMCSA Hours of Service regulations
• Ability to travel overnight as required
• Strong interest in autonomous vehicle technology and emerging transportation systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous autonomous vehicle experience
• Experience troubleshooting computer or technical systems
• Experience supporting vehicle testing, commercial routes, or test‑track operations

• Candidates without prior autonomous vehicle experience: $31.00-$36.00/hr
• Candidates with 2+ years of autonomous vehicle experience: $37.00-$43.00/hr
