Cox Automotive is seeking a Vehicle Operations Support Specialist II to join our team in Michigan. This role emphasizes mechanical and auto body inspections, oversight of reconditioning processes, and strong customer service across multiple internal teams.

You will work a day shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with no remote option. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and several years of related experience; safety and accuracy are essential as you support

• Minimum education of HS diploma/GED or related equivalent and 3 years in a related field / 5 years experience in a related field.
• Strong customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
• Review vehicles in sale lineup and locate missing vehicles for on-time sale readiness.
• Monitor reconditioning processes and communicate with stakeholders for smooth auctions.
• Educate customers on Cox Automotive products and services.
• Coordinate reconditioning services with senior peers and audit condition reports and imaging.
• Build foundational understanding of auction services concepts and vehicle inspection processes.
• Operate basic MS Office software including Outlook and Excel.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation: Hourly base pay rate is $16.59 - $24.86/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Job Description

This Reconditioning Account Operations Specialist II position requires mechanical and auto body inspections, along with administrative responsibilities.

Requirements

• Provide exceptional customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction.
• Review vehicles in sale line up, locate missing vehicles, and work with account representative to ensure vehicles are ready and parked on-spot on-time for sale.
• Performs basic client services duties such as monitoring vehicle reconditioning processes, supporting client team, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure smooth auction operations.
• Educates on company products and services.
• With assistance from more senior peers and multiple auction departments, reviews sales lineup vehicles, recommending and coordinating reconditioning services, and conducting condition report and imaging audits to reduce the risk of policy loss and goodwill expenses
• Develops a foundational understanding of auction services concepts and methodologies including but not limited to condition report data and the vehicle inspection process.
• Basic knowledge of computers software including Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, and other internal business technology platforms.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
• Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform any other duties assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field OR combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; OR 5 years' experience in a related field
• Communication skill required
• Self-starter with ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent verbal and written skills preferred.
• Reconditioning inspection preferred

• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required.
• Prior experience in vehicle reconditioning and/or general auto body knowledge.
• Auction experience
• Ability to operate vehicles with standard and automatic transmission is preferred.

Work Environment

Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level. 85% outdoors / 15% indoors (admin duties)

Benefits

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
