Job summary

Intrepid Acquisition Holdings, LLC seeks an experienced Vehicle Mechanic to repair and overhaul autos, trucks, ATVs, and heavy equipment. The role covers European, Diesel, Japanese, and American vehicles with emphasis on diagnostics and electrical systems.

You will work in varied environments, plan procedures, and use scan tools to diagnose issues. ASE certified and 5–7 years of hands-on experience required; Secret clearance may be needed.

Qualifications

• Plans work procedures.
• Removes engine, transmission, or differentials.
• Disassembles units and inspects parts for wear.
• Repairs or replaces pistons, rods, gears, valves, bearings.
• Diagnoses/troubleshoots mechanical and electrical problems.
• Rewires ignition system, lights, and instrument panel.
• Extensive electronic diagnostic skills/experience.
• Operates/interprets scan tools.
• Air conditioning experience with EPA 609 license.
• Self-starter; willing to work in austere climate; not all work indoors.
• Preferred: BMW and Mercedes experience.

Job description

As the Vehicle Mechanic , you will repair and overhaul automobiles, trucks, ATVS and heavy equipment, specializing in late-model European, Diesel Japanese, and American vehicles and Diesel light and heavy equipment, aircraft loading and handling equipment with at least three years of hands‑on experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Plans work procedures.
• Raises vehicles with hydraulic jack or hoist, to gain access to mechanical units bolted to underside of vehicle.
• Removes units such as engine, transmission, or differentials.
• Disassembles unit and inspects parts for wear.
• Repairs or replaces parts such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
• Diagnoses/troubleshoots mechanical and electrical problems.
• Rewires ignition system, lights, and instrument panel.
• Must have extensive electronic diagnostic skills/experience.
• Must know how to operate/interpret scan tools.
• Must have air conditioning experience with EPA 609 license.
• Must be a self‑starter, and willing to work in an austere climate, not all work is done in a shop environment.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Preferred candidate will have experience with BMW and Mercedes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5 to 7 years of related experience
• You must have current ASE certifications
• Consideration will be given to relevant professional experience commensurate with assignment.
