Job summary

Duke Energy in Indiana (Plainfield) is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and diagnostics on light and medium vehicles and equipment, including gas and diesel engines and forklifts.

The role requires the ability to inspect, diagnose, and repair hydraulic and basic electrical systems, with travel 5-15% for training and service needs. A CDL license must be obtained within 6 months of hire. Diversity and safety are emphasized in this position.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in auto, diesel, or heavy equipment mechanics (vocational).
• One year of related work experience can substitute for degree.
• CDL Class A license required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections on light & medium vehicles/equipment.
• Assist higher classification technicians with PMs and diagnostics.
• Assist with Federal DOT inspections and dielectric test inspections.
