Job summary

Boyne Mountain Resort is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic to join our full-time, year-round team. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair the resort fleet, including heavy equipment and snow grooming gear, trucks, buses, and small engines, ensuring safe, reliable operation.

This role requires at least 1 year of automotive experience, knowledge of engine/transmission/brake/electronics, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work alone or in teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year automotive experience or formal training.
• Knowledge of engine, transmission, axle, brakes and electronics.
• High school diploma or GED.
• State or other certifications recommended.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Fabrication skills are a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostic troubleshooting and repairs on the fleet.
• Assist with ordering, inventory, parts and supplies for the repair facility.
• Work in teams and solo to complete tasks.
• Utilize service manuals, parts catalogs and reference aids.
• Maintain a comprehensive record system for service and repairs.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
• Coordinate repairs with other departments as needed.
• Provide your own tools.

Overview

The Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic is a full-time, year-round position at Boyne Mountain Resort. The Mechanic role at Boyne Mountain is in a fast-paced, ever changing work environment from day to day. The mechanic is responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of the Boyne Mountain fleet. This includes heavy equipment, snow grooming equipment, trucks, busses, vehicles, snowmobiles, fabrication and repair of miscellaneous small engines. The vehicle maintenance team ensures the safe performance and operation of the fleet, with minimum down-time and emergency repair at the most efficient costs to Boyne Mountain Resort while maintaining a fun, positive work environment.

Responsibilities

The Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic's typical job functions include (but not limited to):

• Performing preventative maintenance, diagnostic troubleshooting and repairing jobs associated with the fleet


• Assisting with ordering, inventory, parts and supplies for the repair facility's and fleet


• Ability to work in teams and solo to accomplish required tasks


• Utilizing an accessible library of service, manuals, parts manuals, supply catalogs and other reference aids associated with the operation of a repair facility


• Helping to maintain a comprehensive record system that tracks service, repair, and other needs associated with each vehicle


• Maintaining a clean, safe and organized work environment


• Helping to maintain communication channels to all departments regarding scheduling of repairs and maintenance


• Mechanic must provide their own tools

Qualifications

• You possess a minimum of 1 year of experience in automotive and/or professional training


• Have knowledge of all automotive systems including engine, transmission, axle, brake and electronics


• Have achieved a High school diploma or general education degree (GED)


• Obtained state and or other certifications are highly recommended


• Possess a valid driver's license


• Fabrication skills are a bonus
