Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an Interior Alerts Design and Release Engineer (DRE) to lead component and system design, development, and release for client production vehicles. You will define functional objectives at both vehicle and component levels and manage packaging, software/hardware development, and robust validation.

Responsibilities include design oversight, DFMEA, NYX/Teamcenter data integrity, and on-site regional support for Interior Alerting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 3 years of automotive industry engineering experience.
• Mechatronic component design and release experience.
• Understanding of vehicle components and physical integration.
• Experience with global project management and leading cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in advanced C

Responsibilities

• Directly involved with supplier design efforts and design reviews to ensure supplier design meets Client specifications.
• Ensure systems comply with quality, performance, timing, and cost objectives.
• Collaborate with advanced team to develop, define, and package system designs prior to sourcing.
• Serve as regional on-site support for Interior Alerting.
• Develop and maintain core boundary diagrams, interface matrices, parameter diagrams, DFMEA, and DVP&R.
• Support system integration and proper function with surrounding components, network communications, and ECUs.
• Perform benchmarking, competitive analysis, and investigations on new technology.
• Support quality and warranty initiatives with technical specifications and evaluations.
• Ensure part variation and failure modes are addressed to improve customer satisfaction.
• Support business case studies and develop innovative ways of meeting functional objectives and technical specs with reduced investment.
• Perform RFQ technical evaluations.
• Meet vehicle program milestones and execute releasing processes for the component and its interface within the vehicle.
• Interface with EE systems engineering on VF specs and RAR with suppliers.
• Review and approve software and hardware releases/changes including DVP&Rs and CVVRs.
• Support efforts to meet warranty targets and quality service initiatives.
• Communicate component development status weekly via open issues list/project timelines and technical presentations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with suppliers and internal teams.
