Akkodis is seeking a Vehicle Integration Validation Engineer - Autonomous Vehicle for a contract-to-hire opportunity with a client in Mount Vernon, WA.

Job Title: Vehicle Integration Validation Engineer - Autonomous Vehicle

Pay Range: $50-$65/hr. (All Inclusive)-

The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Duration: 12+months contract

Requisition Summary

The Vehicle Integration Validation group is responsible for validation testing of engine, transmission, vehicle, and exhaust aftertreatment hardware and software used. Group members develop specialized roles (powertrain software, vehicle performance, aftertreatment systems, etc.) while maintaining cross-disciplinary training and knowledge. A validation engineer develops and executes vehicle validation strategies, plans, and testing for ADAS, powertrain, and control systems. Analyses data, identifies issues, and provides technical recommendations. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, manages validation projects, ensures test coverage, and delivers program objectives on time.

Division Information

The client provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of the client through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Centre is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

Serves as a Controls Vehicle Validation Engineer and subject matter expert for validation of autonomous vehicle programs. Provides insight to software development teams and tracking of all related validation testing.
Builds test plans and conducts System Acceptance and Property Validation testing as assigned for autonomous vehicle programs
Coordinates and conducts validation testing specially requested by various PACCAR Divisions
Conducts hands-on validation testing in vehicles.
Participates in setup tests, verifies that test equipment and instrumentation equipment meet specified requirements, and performs software and data checks.
Plans, coordinates, conducts, and manages projects of moderate complexity and size with minimal supervision to ensure the projects stay within scope and are delivered on time and within budget.
Analyzes project requests, discusses project requirements with requestors, and formulates preliminary project plans, budgets, and schedules.
Writes reports as appropriate, incorporating all results, conclusions, and recommendations
Establishes and maintains cooperative and productive work relations with all other departments

Qualifications/skills

Minimum 7 years truck/automotive related work experience desired
Minimum 1 year of Functional Safety testing/development experience desired
Experience with vehicle software highly desired
Ability to manage personal workload and willingness, flexibility, and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands.
Experience with vehicle software and service tools including DAVIE 4, Bendix ACOM, Eaton Service Ranger 4, CAN, J1939, data acquisition systems (Vector CANalyzer), calibration tools (ATI Vision), or vehicle instrumentation preferred.
Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively
Self-directed, excellent analysis and technical judgment required
Powertrain hardware and software testing experience a plus

Education

B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical), Computer Science, or related discipline.
