Job summary

TRUCKING PEOPLE in San Francisco, CA is seeking a Vehicle Installer for Autonomous Vehicles to install and test sensors, wiring, and onboard hardware in each vehicle before it hits the road.

You will read diagrams and specs, mount hardware, power up systems, and catch issues early. The role requires hands-on experience and a passion for autonomous tech, with on-site collaboration in a fast-paced team.

Vehicle Installer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: San Francisco, CA (On-site)
Pay: $34.00 – $40.00 per hour
Shifts: AM (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) or PM (1:00 PM – 9:30 PM)

Applicants open to the PM shift may be prioritized for faster scheduling.

This is not a manual same day routine... Every vehicle that comes through your bay is being outfitted with the tech that lets it drive itself — sensors, wiring, onboard hardware . And you're the one making sure it all works before it hits the road. Some days you're routing and connecting wiring harnesses. Other days you're mounting hardware, powering up systems to test them, or catching an issue before it becomes a problem. You'll work off real diagrams and specs and we need your HUMAN TOUCH! If you like solving problems with your hands and want to have an impact, this is YOUR JOB!

Wanted candidates with direct, hands‑on automotive or vehicle‑electrical experience — not just production‑line or high‑volume manufacturing backgrounds.

We hire fast, if you have:

• Independent automotive repair shops or specialty repair facilities
• Dealership or mobile service technician work (electrical diagnostics, aftermarket hardware installs)
• Automotive audio/sound system installation
• Fleet maintenance or end‑of‑line diagnostic technician experience
• Military or electro‑mechanical trade background
• Automotive trade school training
• Building or repairing personal computers, or other hands‑on technical projects
• Aerospace/aviation assembly or technician work (excluding drone companies)
• AV operation or software testing roles paired with strong hands‑on experience (e.g., project cars, prior technician work)

• You have hands‑on experience with electrical/mechanical hardware assembly
• You have experience building sensor assemblies and cable harnesses
• You enjoy reading drawings, schematics, and assembly/build instructions
• You show strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• You Love your hand power tools
• Exited about the autonomous technology and want to join a COOL TEAM!
