Job summary

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking an EV Technician/Automotive Mechanic in San Diego, CA to service electric/autonomous vehicles. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, A/C, and AV systems, and perform hardware retrofits and firmware updates.

The role requires hands-on experience, strong problem solving, and a focus on safety. Expect collaboration with engineering and service teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4-8 years’ hands-on experience performing automotive vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Diagnose nuanced mechanical, electrical, A/C, and AV/EV systems
• Experience with complex hardware retrofits and AV hardware replacement
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and automotive shop equipment
• Solid computer skills with aptitude for learning new technology and software
• Excellent communication skills and ability to give/receive clear feedback
• A learning mindset and comfort working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proven commitment to safety and high-quality work
• Ability to perform physical work

Responsibilities

• Perform service, repair, and maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and integrated systems of electric autonomous vehicles

• Pay $38.00 - $54.00/hour (based on experience)
• Pay Frequency Weekly pay - every Friday
• Open Shifts Sunday - Thursday 10pm-630am

What We’re Looking For

• Strong ability to diagnose nuanced mechanical, electrical, A/C, and AV/EV systems
• Experience with complex hardware retrofits and AV hardware replacement

• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and automotive shop equipment (impact guns, lifts, jacks, etc.)
• Solid computer skills with a strong aptitude for learning new technology and software

Working Conditions

This role involves working in a mobile, outside and/or shop environment with exposure to dust, diesel fumes, noise, and mechanical materials such as oils and greases. Technicians must be able to perform essential job functions that include frequent movement such as standing, walking, climbing, bending, and sitting for extended periods, as well as lifting heavy objects and accessing tight or confined spaces. This position requires regular use of hands to grasp, reach, handle, and operate tools and equipment. Technicians may be required to work at heights using ladders or elevated platforms and must be able to safely perform duties in various weather conditions. Due to the active work environment and movement of large vehicles, the ability to see and hear sufficiently to safely navigate the workspace is required.
