Job summary

America's Auto Auction (KC) is seeking a Vehicle Inspector/Condition Report Writer in Kansas City, MO. The role focuses on conducting thorough vehicle inspections and producing detailed cosmetic and mechanical condition reports for auction vehicles.

No prior experience is required; training will be provided. The position operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays and possible overtime. Competitive hourly pay and full benefits are included.

• Comfortable working with reporting software, digital platforms, and inspection systems.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections and complete accurate cosmetic and mechanical condition reports.
• Document and photograph vehicle details, damages, and safety concerns.
• Coordinate vehicle reconditioning and repair processes.
• Move and stage vehicles to support auction and sales operations.
• Remove personally identifiable information (PII) from vehicles.
• Provide professional customer service and communicate with customers, vendors and team members.
• Maintain productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
• Keep work areas clean and properly maintain tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety, compliance, and confidentiality policies.
• Travel locally as needed and perform additional duties.

Vehicle Inspector/Condition Report Writer

Growing national auto auction! Vehicle Inspector/Condition Report Writer needed for our KC auction!

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team. No experience is required. Training will be provided. The ability to be outside and on your feet the majority of the time is required for the success of this role.

Prior experience as a rental car damage inspector, insurance appraiser/adjuster, collision/body shop estimator, auction vehicle inspector, dealership vehicle appraiser, or as a related inspector or appraiser is a plus.
