Job summary

America's Auto Auction in North Billerica, MA is seeking a Vehicle Inspector/Condition Report Writer. The role focuses on performing inspections and producing accurate cosmetic and mechanical reports for auction vehicles. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently or as part of a team.

Training provided; no prior experience required. Hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with full benefits, holidays, PTO, 401(k) matching and opportunities

Qualifications

• Strong written communication with grammar and detail.

• Familiar with reporting software and inspection systems.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.
• Must pass pre-employment screening; 21+ and valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle inspections and complete accurate cosmetic and mechanical reports.
• Document and photograph vehicle details, damages, and safety concerns.
• Coordinate vehicle reconditioning and repair processes.
• Move and stage vehicles to support auction and sales operations.
• Remove personally Identifiable Information (PII) from vehicles.
• Provide professional customer service and communicate with customers, vendors, and team.
• Maintain productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
• Keep work areas clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety, compliance, and confidentiality policies.
• Travel locally as needed and perform additional duties.

Vehicle Inspector/Condition Report Writer

Growing national auto auction! Vehicle Inspector/Condition Report Writer needed for our KC auction!

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently and as part of a team. No experience is required. Training will be provided. The ability to be outside and on your feet most of the time is required for the success of this role.

Prior experience as a rental car damage inspector, insurance appraiser/adjuster, collision/body shop estimator, auction vehicle inspector, dealership vehicle appraiser, or as a related inspector or appraiser is a plus.
