Job summary

Gila County Community College seeks an automotive technician to perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on cars, light trucks, trailers, and related equipment to keep county vehicles safe and reliable. The role involves hands-on shop work and field service as needed.

You will conduct road tests, diagnose issues, service engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, electrical, climate control, and related systems, using diagnostic tools, scan tools, and welding equipment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Two (2) years of directly related experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
Valid Driver’s License is required.
Basic training in gasoline engine maintenance, brakes, steering & suspension, basic electrical, climate control and gasoline engine repair.

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on county vehicles and equipment.
Diagnostics to determine repairs and road tests before and after repairs.
Service engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electronics and climate control.
Assist with heavy duty vehicle maintenance and repairs.
Operate service trucks and provide field service and after-hours support as needed.
Design, fabricate, modify and install vehicle accessories as required.
