Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Managing Engineer for Vehicle Engineering in Tampa, FL to lead projects analyzing incidents involving vehicles and heavy equipment. You will apply advanced mechanics, dynamics, and diagnostic techniques to deliver nuanced client solutions in a multidisciplinary environment.

The role requires a PE or eligibility, 5+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills to interface with clients and experts.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligible to obtain one
• 5+ years of full-time experience in mechanical/vehicle engineering
• Experience testifying as an expert in deposition or trial
• U.S. work authorization; no immigration sponsorship required
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Deep knowledge of dynamics and mechanics
• Experience using software to model and analyze technical problems

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from initiation to completion, including planning and control
• Provide broad technical support, field investigations, and analyses
• Communicate project updates to internal and external stakeholders
• Identify and develop business opportunities
• Conduct original research in vehicle safety, design, and accident reconstruction
• Travel to site inspections and equipment evaluations
• Prepare detailed written reports and presentations for diverse audiences
• Support and provide expert testimony on consulting projects
