Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking a skilled Vehicle Dynamics CAE Engineer to join Ford Racing, focusing on high-performance suspension and chassis modeling for track and off-road programs.

You will employ ADAMS, CarSim, and MATLAB to build full-vehicle models, drive design decisions, and support testing and validation to achieve top performance. This hybrid role requires onsite presence several days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of automotive CAE experience focusing on performance or racing vehicle design.
• 10+ years using multi-body dynamics tools like ADAMS or ADAMS Car.
• 5+ years using full-vehicle parametric models like CarSim.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, C++, Visual Basic, Python.
• Experience using AI/LLM tools to accelerate modeling.
• Knowledge of vehicle test methods such as K&C and standard dynamics tests.

Responsibilities

• Use CAE tools and test results for full vehicle and suspension modeling.
• Direct efficient vehicle development and design processes.
• Define new product suspension and chassis designs with the CAE Group.
• Develop and refine CAE tools to improve performance and handling.
• Interpret test results and inform planned vehicle tests.
• Analyze full vehicle test data to set attribute targets and guide hardware choices.
• Support full vehicle simulation modeling work at FPTC and other test locations.
