Job summary

CarMax Urbandale, IA is seeking a Mechanical Associate to ensure every vehicle meets safety and performance standards. You will inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition engines, brakes, steering, and suspension, working with a skilled team in a modern facility.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with domestic and foreign vehicles, pursue ASE certifications, and benefit from ongoing training and a climate-controlled environment designed for efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in engine repair, steering and suspension, brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Strong understanding of health and safety compliance.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for long periods.
• Must hold ASE certifications where required by state/local law.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet CarMax standards.
