Qualifications

• 6+ years of production software experience
• Experience leading engineers or owning a technical area
• Hands-on experience deploying controls solutions on real vehicles
• Ability to mentor engineers, prioritize roadmaps, and drive decisions
• Fluency in differential equations, numerical optimization, and physics
• Practical, end-to-end thinking to advance a controls strategy

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for the controls stack across 0→1 platform bring-up and production fleets.
• Design and implement controllers from low-level actuation to high-level trajectory tracking.
• Design safe, redundant control systems for safety-critical environments.
• Characterize vehicle dynamics across varied embodiments to tailor controls solutions.
• Build calibration and vehicle characterization workflows that scale to fleets.
• Lead, mentor, and grow the controls team and raise the technical bar.
