Job summary

FastTek Global in Michigan is seeking a Vehicle Connectivity Engineer to bridge vehicle communications with external interfaces, developing mobile app requirements and cross-functional collaboration for high-quality connectivity solutions.

You will design vehicle-side components, define security features, and work with 3rd party suppliers to establish verification criteria and test environments while driving a roadmap for automotive connectivity and infotainment features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science.
• Experience building mobile apps with a large user base interfacing cloud/server applications.
• Experience in development of Android and iOS-based subsystems involving audio/video playback and device interfaces.
• Experience in designing intuitive endpoints for internal and user-facing device access.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and OpenAPI specification for architecture and documentation.
• Experience as a Kotlin developer for Android apps and Swift for iOS apps.
• Experience decomposing vehicle-level functions for mobile apps, connectivity systems, and cloud offerings.

Responsibilities

• Develop mobile application requirements and manage development, sourcing, and engineering of mobile solutions.
• Design vehicle-side components interacting with a commercial-grade mobile app to control features or view contents.
• Develop connectivity security requirements and features interfacing with vehicle modules and app plug-ins.
• Collaborate to define vehicle architecture enabling mobile app connectivity to automotive ECUs and UI/UX framework.
• Implement security features in mobile apps interfacing with vehicle networks against unauthorized access.
• Coordinate with 3rd party suppliers for requirements elicitation and test criteria to build internal test environments.
• Document development plans, processes, and mobile applications.
• Conduct benchmarking and market research on vehicle attributes and mobile app trends.
• Guide technology roadmap with industry partners for connectivity, Wi-Fi, and infotainment features.
• Test, verify, and validate mobile app software using industry tools.
