Job summary

ACV Auctions is seeking an enthusiastic Inspector to inspect vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease inventory, documenting condition reports and estimates. You will travel to locations, take photos, and relay findings clearly to the sales team.

The role requires 1 year in the automobile field, strong English communication, and the ability to work outdoors, lift up to 25 lbs, and operate in varying weather. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Actively support efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Conduct inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease inventory to detect damage and mechanical issues.
• Prepare and submit reports of vehicle condition and related cost estimates.
• Help sales team upsell or cross-sell services.
• Travel to dealerships and homes to inspect and write condition reports.
• Take photos and upload them to the image server using the company phone.
• List inspected wholesale vehicles for bidding on the ACV Auctions platform.
• Sign up independent dealerships as buyers on the platform.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you will do:

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.Partnering with a Territory Manager and a team of Inspectors, conducts inspections of vehicles at dealerships, auctions, and off-lease, to detect damage, missing parts and mechanical problems.Prepare and submit a report of vehicle condition, repair/replacement cost estimates, and related documentation.Help sales team up-sell or cross-sell services and productsInterface regularly with our dealers to develop and ensure client satisfaction and build strong relationships.Travel to & from dealerships and homes to inspect, and write condition reports, list vehicles to sell on the auction platform.Take multiple, overall, and damage photos match them to a vehicle, and download them to the image server utilizing the company issued smart phone.List inspected wholesale vehicles utilizing ACV Auctions platform for bidding and purchasing.Sign up independent dealerships as buyers to utilize ACV Auctions digital platform.Perform additional duties as assigned.

What you will need:

1 year(s) Experience in the automobile field (body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge) with customer service backgroundAbility to read, write, speak and understand English.Ability to work outside in the elements for extended periods of time.Problem solving aptitude to meet challenges with resourcefulness and innovative approaches.Proven success to work independently with minimal supervision while working in a team environment.Excellent communicator with the ability to understand customer needs and expectations.Valid driver's license and use of a validly registered and insured motor vehicle required.Knowledge of system capabilities, knowledge of needed/job-relevant software packages, and web-based applications.Ability to perform manual labor such as standing for extended periods, lifting up to or more than 25 lbs, bending, and squattingAbility to drive a manual & automatic transmission.Vision abilities required to properly identify small defects around and underneath vehicles. #LI-JC1
